CONFLICT ZONES
Kabini Forest, India
January 2020
Southwest of India, the heavy rains of the season begin. They force us to seek shelter as dirt roads become increasingly impassable due to rapid flooding. We find ourselves in a small cattle village where the locals offer us a humble roof for the night.
We wait for dawn, hoping the weather will shift in our favor. The villagers' intense and deep glances tell stories of the land we're about to enter. Their knowledge of these forests runs deep, passed down through generations.
Morning arrives and the skies begin to clear. It's time to say goodbye and venture deeper into the jungle. Our search for the elusive Indian Leopard continues, and with each step forward, the possibility of encountering this magnificent creature grows stronger.
